Thing #5

Judging from the perspectives I read concerning Web 2.0 and School 2.0, it has become clear to me that integrating technology into schools is crucially important to our success both as students today, and as teachers tomorrow. Some of the aspects of technology are not conducive to the furthering of education, such as Myspace, but certain qualities within Myspace can be useful. For example, a large number of students maintain Myspace accounts, and several of those regularly post blogs on that account. What if these blogs were translated into a method for fine-tuning and expanding writing abilities? Or, what if students used their blogs to reflect on an ongoing project, much like what we are doing here?

What I think this means is that an increasing amount of learning material, resources, and assignments will become available online. Think of how much of our education up to this point has utilized some aspect of technology, and consider this: The internet is not going to stop growing, therefore there are endless possibilities for what can be done in regards to education.
