This is my document, and I have published it to my blog. I really like Zoho Writer. I explored this feature when working on thing #6 and I intended to explore it further. Now that I am getting that chance, I am delighted with what I'm finding! Right now, It seems that Microsoft Office is still the practical solution for my classwork, but perhaps eventually schools will shift towards applications like this one! That would save students a little money (always a good thing!)
I think my favorite thing about Zoho Writer would be the smiley faces. They are too cool!
Smiley faces might be helpful for those wishing to communicate something and are worried that they might be misunderstood. For example if I was being sarcastic, I could accentuate my remark with an appropriate emoticon. Don't worry, I'm not a sarcastic person! However, smiley faces don't seem to work when I publish my document to my blog.
Overall, I think Zoho Writer has many of the features that Word has. It certainly has enough to serve the purpose of writing essays and things of that nature. I like that you can integrate your documents with other Zoho applications. It also seems pretty easy to take your documents offline and to share them with other people. Those things could be very important for use in the classroom. You can also leave comments on a document, which I think is a great feature in case a teacher wanted to make suggestions for a student's work or if students wanted to accept criticism from their peers.
