Thing #3

I think that in a high school English class, using a blog to post online readings for students to read and react to would be a good idea. Students could create their own blogs in which to post their reactions and feelings about each piece of material they are to read. I could count their participation as one grade, and their correct use of grammar and language skills as another grade. It would be a good idea to have students practice commenting on the blogs of their peers as a way to enhance their language skills. I could also create a list of links and resources on the blog for students to use to their advantage.

it also is an easier way for students to do dialectical journals...They can type and revise as they go along and we, as teachers, can watch their progress and see how they process information and grow into more professional writers. It's also maybe a really great way to have them do research papers and documenting their efforts. It certainly keeps them from doing everything at the last minute!
